When I moved to Palm Desert, California a few years ago, I considered renting a California beach bungalow to satisfy my lifelong dream to live on the beach. In my search for the perfect beach pad to rent, I realized how hard it is to find a great place on the beach. I decided to create a web site to share my California secret places with you. I also recently drove up the California coast from Los Angeles to San Francisco and thought you might enjoy learning about california's amazing coastline through my coastal journey.

California Coastal Driving
Wow, have you ever driven up (or down) the coast of California? What an experience! If you have not experienced this amazing adventure for yourself, you must add it to your "bucket list." (you know, those things you want to do before you kick the bucket).
No matter where your point of origin or where your destination may be, a drive along the coast in California will offer varied scenery from high cliffs and big waves, to miles of flat sandy beach. There are areas to stop and gaze at the sea lions bathing in the sun, vistas with views for miles out to sea, paths to climb down to the beach below and walk through stone archways to the beach beyond, quaint little beach towns along the way for shopping and eating or people-watching.

Pebble Beach Golf Course (Monterey, California)
Don't forget about the Desert Cities! It's about a 2 hour jaunt from L.A. to Palm Springs and Palm Desert or Indio but it's an area you won't want to miss. You won't be driving along the coast but you'll experience the California desert at it's finest. Yes, it gets hot here, as in 115 to 125 degrees in the middle of the summer. But might you believe us if we tell you it's a "dry heat?" The many, many swimming pools in the Desert Cities will welcome you and keep you cool. We recommend visiting Palm Desert, where you can stroll down El Paseo for some fabulous California shopping. You must stop by La Quinta's quaint shopping center as well.
